Nehemiah 3:28-32 If you ever talk to my wife, she will tell you that I’m a pretty impatient person. When I’m ready for something to happen, I want it to happen now. Whether it’s deciding I want to buy something, deciding I want to go do something, or just deciding that I want to change, when I get something in my head, I want it to happen now. I get frustrated when things don’t happen immediately, and, let be honest, things hardly ever happen immediately and rarely go exactly how I want. So, if I want to avoid being frustrated, I need to learn to be more patient. This doesn’t just include things that I selfishly want, it also includes good things I want to see change in my life, in the life of people around me, or even the world. When I see something that I want changed, I want it to be changed completely right now. But, things usually don’t work that way. Any real lasting change whether it’s to better myself, help a loved one through a tough time, or a big change in the community, it usually happens through small changes over a period of time. It often takes a patience and follow through to see real lasting change in our life. When we are faithful to God in the small things in our life, God will be faithful in the big things. Things may not work out exactly the way we want them to all the time, but God will take care of them. When God is in the equation, we don’t have to get caught up in how daunting something may seem because we have God on our side. // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:
- What was the best part of your day?
- What was the toughest part of your day?
- Where did you mess up today?
- Where did you see God today?
