Read Hebrews 10:19-23 When I was in college, I would often drive to and from school and home either really early or really late. I was also usually running on little sleep. I would do my best to focus on driving, but I would sometimes find myself hitting the rumble strips on the side of the road. When I hit them, the vibration would quickly help me realize I had swerved and needed to get back on the road. I’ve found that people in my life can serve the same purpose as the rumble strips on the side of the highway do. Sometimes I can swerve when it comes to my relationship with Christ. I can get distracted with the busyness of life and everything else going on, and I can begin to drift away from where I need to be in my life. Or, I can even quickly veer off course when something I don’t like happens in my life. It’s often other people in my life who can call me out on those things and make me realize that it’s time to get back on track. While having others hold us accountable for our faith can be beneficial, many of us don’t allow anyone close enough to us to keep us from swerving. Do you allow yourself to have the type of relationships you need to stay on track when it comes to your relationship with Christ? Reflect Do you have people in your life who have permission to call you out when you are veering off track? How might having that kind of person in your life be beneficial? Pray Ask God to help put people in your life to challenge and encourage you to grow in your relationship with God. // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:
- What was the best part of your day?
- What was the toughest part of your day?
- Where did you mess up today?
- Where did you see God today?
