Read Ephesians 5:21-33
Charles Barkley had a famous Nike commercial a few years ago where he insisted, “I am not a role model. I am not paid to be a role model.” While the premise of the commercial is good that parents should be role models for their children, Barkley didn’t realize one simple fact: we all influence the people around us.
God holds us accountable to how we lead. Men, he holds us accountable on how we lead our families. If you are a leader at church, he holds you accountable for how you lead the people around you. Even if you lead at work or in your friend group, he holds us accountable for the way in which we lead others to Christ. For all of us, he holds us accountable to how we live around, communicate with, and influence those around us.
We will either lead people toward God or away from God in how we live and treat people. We are leading the people around us somewhere. We are leading our families somewhere. Where are you leading them?
