Read Proverbs 4:23-27
Have you ever asked someone “how are you doing today?” just to be polite only to get the full story on how EXACTLY they were doing that day? It takes you off guard because we are used to the typical “I’m fine, how are you” response. It can actually be a little weird when someone genuinely answers your question.
But, what if you were to genuinely answer the question “how is your relationships with God?” How would you answer that? Could you say it is growing? Stagnant? Not near what it should be? We don’t often think about how our relationship with God is because we don’t really want to face the fact that we maybe aren’t exactly where we should or want to be.
Take a minute today to evaluate your relationship with God. One easy way to do that is look at these four signs that you’re relationship with God is growing:
1. Are you growing in your integrity?
2. Do you listen or ignore God’s direction in your life?
3. Are you humble?
4. Are you peaceful instead of seeking out fights and drama?
Remember, the great thing about your relationships with God is that it doesn’t matter where you’ve been or really where you are, if you decide you want a closer relationship with God, you can start growing closer today.
