Hebrews 10:24-25 I’m pretty open about the fact that my weight is something I’ve struggled with for much of my life. I go back and forth between losing and gaining weight. Most of the time, it’s been something I’ve done on my own. Lately, though, I’ve joined a group of guys in a weight loss challenge. I’ve slipped up a little bit lately, but I’ve gotten back on track. In the past, when I was trying to do it on my own, a slip up would usually cause me to quit. Having people there to hold me accountable, to encourage me, and challenge me when needed has helped me get back on track. It also helps that I’m super competitive and don’t want to lose! I’m the same way in other areas of life. With no one to spur me on, I often drift away from God when it comes to my relationship with Him. If I’m around others who are wise and generous with the resources God has given me, it motivates me to do better. If the people I spend time with care for others, I’m much more likely to want to be caring as well. The people in our lives influence us more than most of us would care to admit. It’s important that we have strong relationships with people who will spur us on to care for people and to do the things God causes us to do. No one ever just drifts to where God wants them to be. It often takes other people to come along to challenge us to become what God has created us to become. If you don’t have people in your life that spur you on to become a better version of yourself, you should. It could make all the difference in your life. // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:
- What was the best part of your day?
- What was the toughest part of your day?
- Where did you mess up today?
- Where did you see God today?
