Hebrews 10:22-23 Cell phones and texting first became popular when I was in High School. This was before people fully realized just how dangerous texting and driving is. I was riding in the backseat of my friends car one day when my friend was texting. As he was texting, he slowly drifted into the other lane. A semi-truck was barrelling right at us. I yelled at my friend to pay attention. He quickly dropped the phone, looked up, and got back on track. We were lucky that day didn’t end in tragedy. If I hadn’t been in the back to warn him of oncoming danger, it could have been a much different story. Our lives are filled with potential pitfalls. We can get caught up in sin, apathy, and any number of other things that get us off track and in trouble. We can often get distracted in life. Without people around us to snap us back into reality, to warn us of potential danger, we can quickly find ourselves in real trouble. We need people in our life to help keep us from swerving off track. Not only do we need people around to help us continue on the right path, we also need to be that person for other people as well. Everyone around you is incredibly valuable to God. They are also just as susceptible to swerving away from where God wants them to be and to get them into trouble. Without people like us to step up and help them along, they could find themselves in serious trouble. We have an obligation to help keep others from swerving as well. // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:

  1. What was the best part of your day?
  2. What was the toughest part of your day?
  3. Where did you mess up today?
  4. Where did you see God today?
Reflect: The passage tells us that good relationships will keep us from swerving away from where we’re supposed to be and will spur us toward doing what we should be doing. Who are the people in your life that have kept you on track in your life the most? Why have they been so important to you? Pray: As you begin your prayer time today, thank God for the people He has put in your life that have helped steer you in the right way. Ask God to help you be that kind of good influence on others.
