Bible In A Year | Read: Hebrews 2
1 We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2 For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, 3 how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. 4 God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. Hebrews 2:1-4
Overview of Chapter
When Jesus became a Man and walked on earth, he was temporarily lower than the angels. This is an indication of just how great he was because it shows his humility. He became human so he could experience the same things as humans and die for us. This is what made him the perfect sacrifice.
In Christianity, humility is valued. Jesus, who is superior to everything in creation, becomes a man. He demonstrates greatness that intentionally subjugates itself to something lesser. It’s an example we are supposed to follow. Unfortunately, many “superiors” demand respect, authority, and obedience rather than humbling themselves. If you are truly humble, you will not become angry when you are insulted, ignored or someone is placed over you. Jesus is also superior at being humble!
Thoughts on the verses
Hebrews 2:3 How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation.
Lily was given a potted plant by her best friend. At first, she was so excited waking up every morning to water the plant. However, after a few days, she was too tired to wake up early each day. She woke up early only once a week. Eventually, the plant became so dry and needed even more extra care to get it refreshed again.
God has given us a wonderful gift. It is a very expensive gift, but it doesn’t cost us a thing. He has given us His Son, Jesus. Some people treat Jesus the same way Lily treated her potted plant.
When they first get to know Jesus, they are so excited. They are proud of Him and they take Him with them everywhere. But as time goes by, they feel less excited and they feel that they only need Him on Sundays and special occasions. Eventually, they completely wander away and leave Jesus.
Let’s cherish God’s most wonderful gift to us. Let’s cherish Jesus. Do not take Him for granted. Do not stray away from Him.

Have you ever thought it would be cool to hear some C3 leaders discuss the daily verses, share about their lives and mostly just talk about nonsense? Of course not!…even though nobody has ever thought that we are still doing it. You can follow along with us each morning in a brand new podcast – Tuesday Salvation & Tony’s Sensual Talk.
