2 Corinthians 9:11 Several years ago, I went on a mission trip to Peru. On our trip we spent time helping with the construction of an orphanage and hanging out in poor villages offering help to those who live there. I was drawn to a little guy named Max. The kid lived an impoverished life, and he probably didn’t know where his next meal was coming from. Even though he lived a tough life, he was still super upbeat. His love for life touched me to the point that I offered him a gift. It was just a simple digital watch that I had bought from Walmart. I offered him the gift, but he declined. He said he had all he needed. His actions stopped me dead in my tracks and caused me to be thankful to God for always providing for all of my own needs. When you are generous, People will thank God for what you give. Many times we do things to get appreciation from others. At the end of the day, though, it’s not about us getting accolades. Our life should be about pointing people toward God. When we give of our time, talent, and treasure, it points people to Jesus. While they may be thankful for what you do for them, they will also have thankfulness toward their Heavenly Father. Even if they don’t know what they think about God, they will be grateful toward Him. What about your life? Are you living a life that is causing others to thank God for what you’ve done in their life? // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:
- What was the best part of your day?
- What was the toughest part of your day?
