Read through the Gospels in a Year: Luke 20:27-40
Read the New Testament in a Year: Hebrews 1:1-9
It’s easy and tempting to waste time and energy in spurious debates that neither advance the cause of the Gospel nor shed any light on real-life issues. Yet they can become a distraction from our real tasks as Christians. Like the Sadducees in today’s gospel reading we can easily find ourselves caught up in endless discussions on minor points of thought or Church law, without realizing we are wasting precious time and perhaps creating needless division.

I’ve always loved Jesus answer to the disciples when they came back complaining that others weren’t part of their group. He simply said, “whoever is not against you is for you” What if we focused more on how we could be for others (those that believe like us and even those who don’t)
