Read: John 3:16
We looked at the first two parts of the gospel yesterday with the idea that God Loved. God Gave. Today, we’ll go back to John 3:16 to see what our role is with the gospel.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him…” Because we have all sinned (which simply means we missed the mark of God’s standard), we can’t do anything to save ourselves. The Bible teaches that salvation is by faith alone in Jesus alone. You can’t do anything to earn it. You just simply believe or put your trust in what Jesus has already done.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” God gave his greatest possession for us and the opportunity for us to have eternal life. Our response is simply to believe and receive this amazing free gift! So how can we summarize the gospel message according to John 3:16.
God Loved. God Gave. We Believe. We Receive
