Read: Mark 10:45
Jesus became a servant, giving His life to save us and setting an example for us to follow. We will see from the scriptures that God puts a high value on serving others, and He encourages us to use the gifts that He has given us to serve God and people.
One of the best ways to become more like Jesus is to get involved by serving in His church. The Bible teaches us that we are all part of the body. We may look different and have different roles, but we all have a part to play in the Body of Christ “AKA the church”. And there’s room for everyone. No matter where you are in your current journey, there’s a place for you to serve. We think by serving you’ll grow. And you might discover what hundreds of other people have discovered: that while you think volunteering requires something from you, it will actually do something good for you and in you.
The goal is to serve Jesus by serving His Church and His City. But, because of our own selfishness, we need to ask ourselves a few questions this week about truly serving like Jesus.
Text the Daily: Have you ever volunteered for something and really enjoyed it?
Journal Question: Think of an area where you could possibly try out serving in your church.
Prayer Starter: Jesus, thank you for coming to earth to serve us, and for setting an example of service.
