Read: 2 Timothy 2:2

Thanks for joining us for the last eight weeks in discovering what it means to truly follow Jesus. Don’t forget the daily prayer challenge below from this past Sunday.

Following Jesus on mission is an exciting adventure but, we are not just “playing for fun.”  There is too much at stake.  With God at work through us, we can alter eternities; we can help people understand their God-given purpose; we can save marriages and put families back together.  Through the good news of the gospel we can see people healed from addictions; we can bring transformation to communities and play a part in restoring God’s dream for this world.  Yes, it’s fun.  But let’s play to win!

So how do we win?

The single overriding objective of the church is to make disciples who make disciples which leads to starting new groups, ministries and churches. This is the direct result of the Great Commission as we read of it in Acts. Read 2 Timothy 2:2 again and look at “The Win” for the Great Commission. Every disciple should be able to measure this to the fourth generation. The Bible states that every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. The goal is for that to happen on our watch. This explains the call to multiply disciples from Jerusalem to Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.

The gospel win is to make disciples that make disciples to the fourth generation.
