Proverbs 18:21 I love pizza. I always have ever since I was a little kid who loved the Ninja Turtles and their pizza devouring ways. I could literally eat pizza every single day and not get tired of it’s delicious goodness. Fortunately for me, my love for pizza hasn’t became a full on obsession to the point where I think about it 24/7. However, if someone mentions pizza, it brings it to my mind, and I start craving it. We all probably have that food that, as soon as someone mentions it, we get a little hungry and wish we could order it right now. If yours is pizza, I apologize! What we think about is powerful. Our thoughts control our actions, our lives, and our perception of everything around us. Unfortunately, the words people say to us have a profound impact on how we think and, because of that, how we act. Inside of everyone is the potential to do great things, but everyone also has the potential to be a real jerk, too! When we treat people and talk to them like they are awesome and will do great things, they will usually prove us right. When we treat people and talk to  them like they are worthless jerks, they will usually prove us right, too. How we talk to people impact, to some degree, how they talk and treat us and everyone else around them. God has called us to speak life into the people He has put around us. Sure, there are some people who are just jerks, but, many of the people around you, are just a few life giving words away from proving they can be something or someone completely different. Speak to people the way God treats us: with love, mercy, and respect. // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:

  1. What was the best part of your day?
  2. What was the toughest part of your day?
  3. Where did you mess up today?
  4. Where did you see God today?
Reflect: Do you find that how you act changes depending on how someone speaks to you? Why do you think that is? Pray: As you pray today, ask God to be with your words. Ask Him to help you speak life giving words to people instead of life taking words. READ THROUGH THE NEW TESTAMENT: Today’s Reading: Matthew 24]]>
