I have been guilty several times of saying one thing and doing something completely different. Many times it’s an honest mistake. I tell someone something fully believing it, but, then something happens, and I end up doing something else. Other times, I know full well I’m going to do something different when I tell someone something, I just lie to try to avoid conflict. When other people say one thing and do another, it infuriates us. However, when we do it, we’ve become very good at coming up with excuses as to why it had to be that way.
We are the same way with God. Many of us show up to church on Sunday morning and maybe even Wednesday night claiming that God is a priority in our life. But, reality for most of us is that we spend the rest of the week choosing many other things above Christ. We talk a much bigger game than our actions actually show.
Jesus doesn’t want to just be part of our life. He wants to be the center of our life. There’s a huge difference between just being a Christian and truly being Christ-Centered in how we live our lives?
Do you place other things before your relationship with God in your life?
