4 x 6 Plan | Read: Luke 9:18-36 & 1 Peter 2:1-12

Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness. (1 Peter 2:2-3)

Can you imagine eating the same food day after day, month after month for an entire year? I’m not that extreme, but I’ve never minded eating the same thing each day.  It’s weird to me (and trust me, I know I’m actually the weird one lol) when people say “I don’t want to eat McDonalds because we had burgers yesterday”.  I honestly don’t know how what I ate 24 hrs ago impacts my taste buds now?  If something tastes good then I think it’ll taste good the next day too.  Ok..my rant is over.

As newborn babies, we received milk as our main source of nourishment and we continued to crave it. Without it, we wouldn’t have grown. Just like babies need milk to grow, we continually grow in grace as we follow Jesus.  We start trusting more and we begin to see the good things He has for us.

In 1 Peter 2:1-3, Peter lists some areas in our lives that are harmful as we grow in our walk with Jesus. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:6 that the way to be blessed and filled in this life is to, “hunger and thirst for righteousness.” Once we’ve tasted God’s goodness, we crave more of it! He really is the best way to find life!
