Proverbs 3:5-6 When I was little, my dad took my sister and I to visit a friend of his for the weekend. Their family had moved a few hours away a couple of year prior, so we were excited to get to see them. My excitement quickly turned to nervousness when one of the first things we did when we got there was go for a walk that included walking over an old, out of service train bridge. This bridge was wooden with planks rotting out. I was freaked out because I knew that if I stepped on a plank that fell through, I would plummet to my untimely death. I plunged forward, though, because I trusted my dad would keep me safe. In hindsight, I’m still not sure our walk across the creepy old bridge was the safest thing, but we made it through! God wants us to have the same faith in Him that a child has in a parent. A child knows that their parents will keep them safe. In their eyes, parents are often superheroes who can do anything. They know that, as long as their parent is around, everything will be okay. God never told us that we won’t face scary and stressful situations. He acknowledges over and over that we will face difficult circumstances at times. There will be moments where we don’t know if we can or should keep going forward. It’s in those situations that God is there for us to let us know that we will make it through. When you face troubles circumstances, remember that your Heavenly Father is right there with you to help make sure you get to the other side. God wants what’s best for you, and He’s big enough to provide it. We just need to learn to trust Him. // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:

  1. What was the best part of your day?
  2. What was the toughest part of your day?
  3. Where did you mess up today?
  4. Where did you see God today?
Reflect: Which do you trust more: God’s plan for you or your own decisions? Has the way you lived your life shown this? If not, why? Pray: If you have trouble trusting God at times, share with God why that is in prayer today. Talk to Him about the areas of your life you want to trust Him with.
