Read Philippians 3:13-14
One of the best times of the year is just around the corner…college basketball’s march madness. If you know anything about basketball, you know how important it is to have a good point guard. The point guard guides the team and makes sure everyone is doing what they are supposed to. A successful point guard often has the vision and foresight to know an opponent’s next move before it’s made and the discipline to make important plays when the game’s outcome is on the line. Good point guards do not look at obstacles like huge defenders or quick shooters but seek out opportunities to to maximize their team’s advantages.
Throughout the Bible, we see people who relentlessly step out and live their life for God and serving others. God is clear that He wants saved people to serve people. This can seem risky and scary. We often hesitate to step out and do things because we focus more on the obstacles in our way and not the opportunities that may occur if we put our faith in God and step out..
To be relentless, we must look forward to what is ahead, and the best way to do that is to allow our vision and goals to align with God’s vision and goals. When God is asking you to step up and serve others or do something big, do you focus more on the obstacles in the way or what God wants from your life? Like a good point guard, God sees the next move, and He is on your side ready to guide you to where you need to be.]]>
