Read 1 Kings 11:9-11
Have you ever thought about what you would do if you won the lottery? Would you pay off all your debt? Buy your mother a house? Or would you burn through your money on awesome cars, expensive luxuries, and fancy trips if you could just hit those five big numbers? Sadly, those who win the lottery more often than not end up broke just as quickly as they became millionaires. Many times, they end up losing their homes, marriages, and wealth. In many cases, they were simply unprepared for instant wealth.
In the Bible, King Solomon faced a similar situation. God gave Solomon specific instructions, just as He did all kings, but wealth, power, and lust led him to disregard God’s command sin his life. Solomon didn’t almost exactly the opposite of what God wanted for his life. Solomon ended up losing everything he had accumulated because he failed to listen to God.
God has a unique plan for you. He has had this plan before you were born. If you want to live the life God has planned for you, then it has to start with you being obedient to what God commands for you to do in your life.]]>
