In the mid 1990s, people started collecting these little stuffed animals called Beanie Babies. People went absolutely crazy over these small animals stuffed with beans. McDonald’s even used Beanie Babies as Happy Meal toys on multiple occasions. Fifteen years after the hoopla, I think it’s safe to say that some of you even have an absolutely worthless tub of Beanie Babies in the attic, under their beds, or collecting dust in a garage. Thats the interesting thing about fads. They come and go, they change constantly, and when they’re gone, few people remember what made them so great in the first place. They lose their relevance quickly. However, there’s one person that never loses relevance–God.
From generation to generation, God’s faithfulness, relevance, and importance do not change. He is the same today as he was hundreds of years ago. He will continue to be the same until he returns again. Even though he is exactly the same, He is still completely interested in our everyday lives. It’s important to realize how important and relevant God’s word remains for us today. Choosing to follow his word can be a decision between prosperity and destruction.
Make a commitment this week to make God a priority in your life. Maybe that means attending C3 faithfully or becoming more serious or consistent about your personal time with God.]]>
