Read Psalm 27:13-14 My favorite time of year has always been Christmas. I love the lights, the decorations, the presents, and getting to spend time with family you don’t get to see often throughout the year. If I’m being honest, when I hear people complain about Christmas music being played before Thanksgiving or Christmas decorations being put out alongside Halloween decor, I hide a little bit because it pumps me up. I look forward to Christmas time all year long. In Psalm 27, David tells his readers to wait for the Lord. David had a confidence that he would see the goodness of the Lord among those who are living. Because of this, he instructed people to be strong and take heart while they wait on the Lord. In the Christmas story, everyone from the shepherds to Simeon and Anna were waiting on the Lord to move. It was the fulfillment of prophecies that the people of Israel were looking forward to for generations. Christmas is the ultimate proof what David said in Psalm 27. The people of Israel were able to be strong while they waited on the Lord because they had confidence that they would see God’s goodness through Him keeping His promises to Him. Because God has proven Himself faithful, we can be strong as we wait for God to come through for us because we can have confidence that He will make good on His promises to us. Reflect What areas of your life do you find yourself being impatient in? What do you think God would say to that? Pray Ask God to help you have more patience and confidence in Him as you wait for Him in those areas where you are impatient. // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:

  1. What was the best part of your day?
  2. What was the toughest part of your day?
  3. Where did you mess up today?
  4. Where did you see God today?
