4 x 6 Plan | Read: Matthew 21:33-46 & Ephesians 3:14-21

I tell you, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation that will produce the proper fruit.  (Matthew 21:43)

A friend of mine used to own a beach condo and was always telling us to stay anytime we wanted.  I never did because it made me too nervous.  I know my family and kids are terrors and there was no way I was going to let them mess up or break anything in their condo.  It’s like a borrowed car…I always treat it way better than the junk I’m driving lol.  In this story Jesus shares a parable about a landowner who planted a vineyard and leased it to tenants. It was there to enjoy and even profit. The landowner sent his servants to collect the fruit, but the tenants mistreated and even killed them. Finally, the landowner sent his own son, whom the tenants also rejected and killed. This parable speaks to us about God’s incredible grace and how it overturns our human understanding of righteousness.

You see, Jesus came as the rejected stone, the cornerstone that the builders rejected. He came to establish a new way, a new covenant rooted in grace and love. The religious leaders of His time sought righteousness through the law, but Jesus showed them that their self-righteousness would ultimately lead to their own downfall.

Remember, Jesus buried the self-righteousness of the religious leaders with the law, but He gives grace to those who recognize their need for it. Today, let’s celebrate the grace that sets us free and walk in the confidence that comes from knowing we are accepted and loved by our Savior.

Thoughts on Ephesians 3:14-21

Ephesians 3:14-21 reminds us that as followers of Jesus, we have access to unlimited strength and love from God. We can tap into the power of the Holy Spirit within us to face any challenge or difficulty with confidence. It encourages us to understand and embrace the incredible love that God has for us, allowing it to shape our lives and relationships. In practical terms, we can apply this by spending time in prayer, seeking guidance and strength from the Holy Spirit. We can reflect on the depth of God’s love, and make a conscious effort to extend that love to others. Let’s trust that God can surpass our expectations and fulfill His purposes in our lives, knowing that His power is working within us.
