This is a record of the ancestors of Jesus the Messiah, a descendant of David and of Abraham:. (Matthew 1:1)

Welcome to the Gospel of Matthew, a book that tells the story of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came to earth to bring salvation to all people. If you’re new to the Bible or haven’t spent much time in church, you might be wondering what this book is all about.
First of all, let me reassure you that this book is for everyone, regardless of your religious background or beliefs. Matthew wrote this book to share the good news of Jesus with all people, and that includes you.
This book is filled with stories of Jesus’ life, teachings, and ministry, but it’s not just a historical account of events that took place centuries ago. The message of this book is just as relevant today as it was back then.
You see, at its core, the Gospel of Matthew is about grace. It’s about God’s unmerited favor and love for us, which He demonstrated through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Through Jesus, we have access to forgiveness, freedom, and a new life. We don’t have to work for God’s love or try to earn our way into heaven. Instead, we simply receive it through faith in Jesus Christ.
So, as we read through the Gospel of Matthew, I encourage you to approach it with an open heart and mind. Allow yourself to be touched by the love and grace of God that is woven throughout this book. And if you have questions or need help understanding anything, know that there are people who would love to walk alongside you on this journey.
