Read: Philippians 2:3-5

Starting to think about actively making disciples can seem daunting at first. “Will I need to go out and start recruiting my friends and neighbors in unnatural and awkward ways?”

Remember, you are always in “discipleship mode”. You are both being discipled and discipling others all the time, that is what a life of apprenticeship in the Kingdom is like.

Think about the friends, family and acquaintances you already have today. Many of these people are quite possibly ones God has brought into your life. Instead of thinking about how you have to “preach” to these people, think about the most natural ways, as a group, you can begin to enter into their story and share God’s story with them. Now think back through the Bless Rhythms (Begin with Prayer, Listen, Eat, Serve, Story) and ask God to begin to show you how to intentionally integrate your life into the rhythms of these people. This is not an individual effort-you are part of a family of missionary servants!

Sadly every statistic shows that the longer we are a follower of Jesus, the less friends we have that are non-Christian. Jesus didn’t live this way.

Journal/Text Question: How can you begin to incorporate discipleship as a part of everyday life?

Prayer Starter: Jesus, help me to surrender all aspects of my life to you including my hopes, time and resources.
