Read Mark 12:41-44

WE ARE CALLED TO USE OUR FINANCES IN A WAY THAT HONORS GOD (ROMANS 13:8). MONEY IS SUPPOSED TO SERVE US TO ALLOW US TO BE GENEROUS. INSTEAD, IT OFTEN CAUSES US TO SERVE IT AND BECOME SELFISH AND GREEDY.

If you’re a parent, you know the feeling have telling someone to do one thing and they go off and do something completely different. We’ve all experienced this in one way or another. We get frustrated and wonder why we bother trying to help in the first place if they other person is just going to do what they want anyway.

This has to be the same way God feels with us sometimes with money. God has called us to use our finances in a way that honors Him. He wants us to use the money he has blessed us with to allow us to serve others and bless them. He wants us to use it for His purposes in the world.

Instead, most of us allow money to become our masters. We serve it instead of having it serve us. We become selfish, self-centered, and greedy. When we begin to serve money, that’s when we have a problem in our life? Do you serve money?
