1 Peter 4:8-10 We all have people that we look up to and admire. People that, as we were growing up, we wanted to be like. One of the most painful things, though, is when someone you’ve looked up to and maybe even imitated fails you. Maybe they did something that wrecked their life, or you saw them do something that wasn’t right. Whatever the case, it can shatter the faith and admiration you once had for them. Our actions and words are powerful. They have the ability to influence people positively or negatively. God has given us the purpose here on earth to use our actions and words to show people who God is and how He loves us. God gives us the most example of how to live this way when He describes how Jesus loves the church. We must mirror the love of Jesus in our life to others. When we do this, it’s impossible for people not to notice. This selfless love draws so much attention because it is the opposite of what we see in most of the world. God set up marriage to mirror the love that Jesus has for His people. A loving marriage is a powerful example to the world of God’s love, and it shows your children and those around you what a real marriage should look like. How you live and love in the most important relationships in your life, especially your marriage, is the greatest way for us to show the world who God is and how He loves us.]]>
