Read: Matthew 7:7-12
Each miracle we’ve read about—deliverance, healing, protection—comes when we realize there’s no natural way out of a situation. Have you ever been so desperate for food, money, or some vital resource that your only option was to pray for a miracle?
Jesus actually told us, more than once, how to ask for provision. Let’s look at two examples: The Lord’s Prayer, found in Matthew 6:9-13, and Ask, Seek, Knock from today’s reading in Matthew 7. These two actually come from one of Jesus’ sermons, the Sermon on the Mount.
Jesus must’ve really wanted us to remember how to pray. He basically gave us the same prayer two ways. The outline (Ask, Seek, Knock) and the book (The Lord’s Prayer). The meal (The Lord’s Prayer) and the recipe (Ask, Seek, Knock). The answer (The Lord’s Prayer) and the question (Ask, Seek, Knock).
