Psalm 73:23-24 Because the sports teams I played on growing up were so bad, it wasn’t uncommon for me to find myself on the wrong side of a blowout more often than not. Every now and then when one of my teams were down by a lot of points in a game, we would do the seeming impossible and make a comeback where we would win when no one thought we had a chance. You’d think after a few of these improbable comebacks, our teams would always continue to play hard no matter how badly we were getting beat. This wasn’t the case, though. Our confidence was usually so shot that, once we got down by a few points, we would stop playing hard because we figured there was no point. We all face those tough times in life. Those times where it seems that, no matter how hard we try, we just keep getting knocked down. In those situations, we have two choices. We can lose faith and stay down, or we can get up, trust God is with us, and keep fighting. Our God is a God of miracles and second chances. Nothing is ever hopeless when God is in the mix. We have to look no further than the resurrection of Jesus for proof of that. Many of us, though, find ourselves giving up on things in the midst of struggle because we lose faith in the God who has never given up on us. No matter what, God will never let go of you. Sometimes all we can do is trust Him even if it doesn’t seem like things will ever get better. We have that choice, we can give in to our circumstances, or we can give them over to God and trust Him with our life.]]>
