Luke 1:46-55 We’ve all seen those couples that don’t quite make sense. You know, the ones where, most likely, the lady is way out of the guy’s league, but they are together anyway (maybe that just described your relationship!). We always ask, “What’s she doing with him?!” Even though it doesn’t make sense, she sees something in him that maybe no one else sees. In the Bible, Mary was a pretty ordinary and even boring young girl. There wasn’t a whole lot special about her. There certainly wasn’t anything noteworthy enough to make her deserving of becoming the virgin mother of the Son of God. Even though she was unremarkable, God still chose Mary to be Jesus’ mother because He saw something in her that no one else did. In life, you may feel unremarkable, ordinary, or even boring at times, but God sees more in you than you can possibly imagine. God doesn’t just see where you’ve been or who you are right now, God sees what you can become, and He invites you into a life where he’ll point you in a direction where you can do and be more than you ever thought possible. If you feel ordinary this holiday season, remember that you’re in good company, and God still wants to use you to do the remarkable in your life.]]>
