1 Samuel 15:20-23 When I was a kid, I wanted a dog for Christmas one year. Now, I knew that my mom wasn’t going to let me have a dog, so I came up with an elaborate plan. I was going to ask for a hamster for Christmas, and, then, show my mom that I was responsible enough to take care of it. Then, once I had proven myself, I would ask for a dog. It was the perfect plan. Unfortunately, my mom took my asking for a hamster and thought I simply wanted a pet. For Christmas that year, we got a family cat. My sister was pumped. I was heartbroken. Our plans for life are always going to get thrown off. Things are rarely going to go exactly how we envision them. The key is how we react when things get off course. When Joseph’s life plan fell apart, he could have given up or lashed out. Instead, Joseph continued to obey God. How do you react when things don’t go as planned in your life? Do you sulk and get depressed, or do you view it as an opportunity to obey God and trust that He is going to do something great in your life?]]>
