Only a few generations earlier, it didn’t seem like the nation of Israel would amount to much. THey were escaped slaves wandering through the wilderness. Under Solomon’s leadership, however, they were flourishing. Solomon’s wisdom wasn’t limited to spiritual matters. As Solomon turned toward God, God gave him the kind of wisdom that benefited a whole nation. The whole world is God’s – not just the churches, not just Sunday mornings, but all of it. Solomon’s wisdom from God worked his way into every decision, and the nation prospered because of it. We like to separate our “spiritual life” from “real life”, but there is no such distinction. God is as much God of our everyday issues as He is our big spiritual battles. Pray today and ask God to give you wisdom and show you how He would want you to act and make decisions in all areas of your life.
