Genesis 1:26-27 I always got pretty good grades in school. I coasted through my classes in middle school and high school and got pretty good grades. So, naturally, I thought I was pretty smart. When I got to college, though, it was a bit of a wake up call. I took biology the first semester of my freshman year, and it kicked my but. I had to work harder than I had ever worked in a class and barely managed to a get a C. I learned the hard way that semester that, just because I thought I was smart, didn’t mean it was true. Whether it is thinking we are better than we are or thinking we are worse than we are, just because we think something doesn’t make it true. Many people struggle with feelings of inadequacy. They struggle with whether they are smart enough and good enough. They may struggle with their appearance or whether or not they are the person they try to show to the world. Many times, people convince themselves that they are worthless or useless. That they aren’t worthy of love or the blessings they have in their life. But, just because they think this about themselves, doesn’t make it true. God tells us over and over in His word that He loves and cares for us just the way we are. He created us exactly the way He wanted us to be. When we allow other people or the voice inside our heads to convince us that we don’t measure up, we couldn’t be more wrong. God accepts you right where you are whether you believe it or not. // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:
- What was the best part of your day?
- What was the toughest part of your day?
- Where did you mess up today?
- Where did you see God today?
