You can do it?

Read Philippians 4:10-13

You’ll find Philippians 4:13 written on everything from tattoos, athlete’s shoes and eye black, Christian t-shirts, and everywhere in between. We love to quote it to reassure ourselves that we can make it through no matter what life throws our way.

But, the verse is about more than us just being able to overcome obstacles that we face. It’s actually kind about the opposite.

Paul says that he has learned that he can be content in whatever the circumstances no matter if they are good or bad. It doesn’t matter if he’s well fed or hungry, if things are going well or horribly wrong, he can do all things through Christ who gives him strength.

No matter what hardships we face, Philippians 4:10-13 should encourage us that we can make it through. But, it’s not of our own power or ability. It’s by trusting that God has our back and is going to help us get through no matter what life throws our way.
