There’s nothing worse than when the power goes out in your house.  You have no way of keeping your electrical appliances running. Growing up, sometimes it would lasts long enough to spoil the food in our fridge.  In the summer it means no A/C or fans that will work. Even worse for most kids, this means no Fortnite until the power comes back on.

Not having any power to run the very things we can take for granted stinks. Yet many of our spiritual lives are in blackout because we aren’t connected to the source that gives us power.  We wake up and get juiced with social media or several random text messages and maybe, just maybe if we have time we will open up His word. I give you massive props for being in His word today, reading this devotional and wanting to deepen your relationship with God.

The Psalmist reminds us that God’s word acts as a lamp to guide our path in moments in which our life may feel blacked out by the many uncertainties we face. Having His word allows me to stay connected to His heart. I may not be able to see what lies ahead, but knowing that He does, gives me a sense of peace and hope that everything will turn out alright. His word is a reminder that my life doesn’t have to be like a blackout, especially when His light is powering up my life.

Today you have the ability to walk through your dark circumstance with the guidance and illuminating light of Christ. When you take the time to be in His word, you are receiving a daily power source of life into your life.
