Read through the Gospels in a Year: Mark 13:14-31
Read the New Testament in a Year: 2 Corinthians 11:16-33

“At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.” Mark 13:26

Do you ever try to imagine what you or your children or grandchildren will be like in ten years? Or your brother or sister? Or a close friend? Maybe you can do that right now with you or about someone you love.

I always picture my children’s future in wonderful ways. Since we love them, we hope that their future far exceeds what we could ever dream. Maybe you or someone you love has been wonderfully successful in the past decade. I hope so.

But success that sidesteps Jesus isn’t really success at all. Where do you hope and pray your loved ones will be ten years from now in their relationship with Jesus? How about you? Where will you be with Jesus in the next decade? To have a vision of where we want to be in terms of our spiritual maturity can open the way to real spiritual renewal, encouraging it to grow and blossom.

The biblical reality is that someday Jesus will return to earth with “great power and glory.” The date of his return is shrouded in mystery, but we know it will be beyond amazing. I read a phrase that I used in a message a few weeks back that said, “100 years from now, the only thing that will matter is your child’s relationship with God” That phrase is actually true for all of us. So instead of a ten year plan, what’s your 100 year plan?
